Your privacy

Privacy policy

Short version: we collect almost nothing about you. This site is plain static pages with no cookies, no analytics, no ads and no forms. The details below explain the little data that is processed, who processes it and what rights you have.

Contains promotional links.

Who is responsible for your data

This website, chickenroad.radio.am, is published by the team behind chickenroad.radio.am. For any question about privacy, you can use our contact page or write to us at contact@chickenroad.radio.am. This policy applies to all pages of the site, including this Australian edition.

What we collect

The site is built from static HTML pages. We do not run user accounts, comment sections, newsletters or forms of any kind. We do not use analytics tools, tracking pixels, advertising networks or social media plugins that follow you around the web. We do not set any cookies.

In practice, the only personal information we ever receive directly is what you choose to send us by email.

Hosting and server logs

Our pages are delivered through Cloudflare, a hosting and content delivery provider. To deliver pages and protect the site against attacks and abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request in its server logs. This processing is necessary for the site to work and stay secure. We do not use these logs to build profiles of visitors, and we do not combine them with other data. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy.

If you email us

When you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever is in your message. We use this only to read and answer your message, and to act on any correction you report. We do not add you to a mailing list, sell your details or share them with operators or advertisers. We keep emails only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and then delete them.

Why this data is processed

There are only two purposes. Technical data in server logs is processed so that pages can be delivered to your browser and the site can be protected against misuse such as automated attacks. Email content is processed so that we can reply to you and fix any issue you report. We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, automated decision-making or advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Security and where data is processed

Cloudflare runs a global network, so technical request data may be processed in data centres outside Australia, including the country closest to where you browse from. Emails you send us are stored with our email provider and accessed only by the site team. We take reasonable steps to keep this limited information secure, such as restricting access and deleting messages when they are no longer needed. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send us sensitive information such as identity documents or banking details. We will never ask you for them.

Your rights

Under Australian privacy law you can generally ask what personal information an organisation holds about you, ask for it to be corrected and make a complaint about how it was handled. Because we hold very little, in most cases the only personal information we might have is an email you sent us. You can ask us to tell you whether we still have it, to correct it or to delete it by writing to the address above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from children, and because we run no forms or accounts there is no way for a child to register with us.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site works changes, for example if we ever add a feature that processes more data, we will update this policy before that change goes live and show the new date at the top of the page. Our cookie policy and terms of use are consistent with this policy.
